The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Jember (Faperta UNEJ) has officially launched a series of activities for the 2025 Campus Life Orientation Program for New Students (PKKMB), held in the Faperta Meeting Room and the agricultural campus environment. This event serves as the first step for new students to familiarize themselves with academic culture, the university's core values, and the innovative and sustainable dynamics of campus life in the agricultural field.
The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. M. Rondhi, S.P., M.P., Ph.D., who emphasized in his opening remarks the importance of the younger generation in ensuring food security and driving innovation in the agricultural sector. “We want new students to realize that agriculture is not just a profession, but a calling to build the nation’s future. At the Faculty of Agriculture, UNEJ, you will be guided to become resilient academic individuals, capable of critical thinking, and able to innovate amidst global challenges,” he said. The PKKMB Faperta event took place over five days, from August 11 to 15, 2025, featuring various sessions designed to be educational, interactive, and humanistic, including:
Introduction to MBKM Study Programs and Curriculum
Introduction to Laboratories, Greenhouses, and Experimental Gardens
Academic Ethics and Anti-Bullying Culture
Nationalism and National Defense Awareness
Inspirational Sessions with Alumni & Agricultural Practitioners
Introduction to Student Organizations: HIMAGRO, BEM Faperta, UKM Faperta
Leadership and Soft Skills Workshop
In line with the University of Jember's commitment, all PKKMB activities at the Faculty of Agriculture are conducted under the principle of being free from bullying and violence. All committee members, lecturers, and student mentors have signed an Integrity Pact, ensuring that the campus orientation process takes place in a friendly, inclusive, and educational environment. “We hope this activity serves as a meaningful start and motivates new students to actively engage in learning, organizing, and developing themselves holistically,” concluded the Deputy Dean III for Student Affairs, Dr. Subhan Arif Budiman, SP., M.P. The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Jember is one of the oldest faculties at UNEJ, with an excellent reputation in the fields of agronomy, agribusiness, and sustainable agricultural technology. Faperta UNEJ is committed to producing high-quality graduates with leadership qualities who actively contribute to national agricultural development.
