The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember, received a visit from a team of assessors from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) in the context of a field assessment of the Master of Agronomy Study Program. The assessment activity lasted for three days, namely on April 21-23, 2025. The assessors who attended this activity were Prof. Rudi Hari Murti, M.P., PhD from Gadjah Mada University, and Prof. Ir. Totok Agung Dwi Haryanto, M.P., PhD from Jenderal Soedirman University. Both assessors were welcomed by the Rector of Jember University, Iwan Taruna and Vice Rector I Prof. Slamin, as well as the leaders of the faculties and study programs. 

This field assessment activity aims to verify and confirm the data that has been sent by the Master of Agronomy Study Program through the accreditation form report. In this activity, the assessors conducted interviews with lecturers, students, education staff, and alumni. In addition, the assessors also reviewed the facilities and infrastructure supporting learning such as laboratories, classrooms, and libraries. In his speech, Iwan Taruna expressed his hope that this activity would become a momentum to improve the quality of education and academic services at the University of Jember. “We are committed to continuously improving the quality of learning, research, and community service in accordance with national and international standards of higher education,” he said.

The assessor team provided several constructive inputs for the future development of the study program, especially in terms of improving the quality of the curriculum based on Merdeka Belajar - Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), as well as strengthening cooperation with external partners. The field assessment activity was closed with a final evaluation session and the signing of the assessment minutes between the assessor team and the study program leader. The final results of this assessment will be officially announced by BAN-PT in the next few weeks.
